ABOUT BOND PRINTS
My set of 15 James Bond Book covers were originally commissioned by Penguin Books to mark the 2008 Centenary of Ian Fleming's birth.
They were produced as limited edition Hardback books which sold out very quickly.
I have always had a great affinity with the culture and ethos of the 60s and 70s, and felt completely at home making the covers. It was a great honor to be asked, and I felt the responsibility to get it right. They were crafted over the course of a couple of months, a real purple patch!
Soon after their release I started hearing from Bond fans worldwide, and it came as a relief that I had created something which resonated with a community that is incredibly passionate and protective of James Bond.Next, the design world started writing about the covers, and I began getting asked to use the images on everything from tee shirts to tea cups.
I approached the Ian Fleming Estate, and asked if they would grant me the license to make Limited edition Art prints of the highest quality, and in 2013 we started a partnership which endures, and I am very grateful for. The prints are available exclusively here.
The Fleming Estate have been wonderful to work with, and I really value the support of both them, and the Bond community at large. Happy to have you all in my life.
The prints are produced by Electric Works Gallery, a member of the San Francisco Fine Art Dealers Association. They are a family run business, who I have worked happily with for 17 years+. The prints are made with archival inks on 100% Cotton Heavyweight rag paper, and are signed and numbered.
The prints have hand torn deckle edges, which makes them perfect to float mount, a simple and effective way to display the art. Enjoy!
